Rainbow in the Clouds

Rainbow in the Clouds

When I saw this #rainbow in the #sky it challenged my understanding of when I see #rainbows . I always associated rainbows after rain. In this photo, there were only #clouds and this rainbow appeared for but a fleeting #moment

Then Genesis 9:13-15 showed me the answer. Genesis 9:13-15 (Amplified Bible - AMP) I set My rainbow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall come about, when I bring clouds over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the clouds, 15 and I will [compassionately] remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again will the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Although rainbows may still appear during and after it rains, God said He would set His rainbow in the clouds. God is indeed faithful to his Word! #thankyoujesus .

Yosemite National Park & Ansel Adams

Fourth Grade was when I first learned about Ansel Adams and his spectacular black & white landscapes. It was not until later that I learned that the pieces I enjoyed the most were taken at Yosemite National Park in California.

Appreciating his work is easy. Since it is in black and white, the beauty today is still present years from today. Some of his most amazing work are photographs taken during the winter. Working with modern equipment it can challenging to travel (hiking, climbing); I can only imagine that most of the skill, besides creative--is physically demanding. The fruit of the labor is worth it. Please take a look at Ansel Adam's work here.

For more information about getting to the Ansel Adams gallery in Yosemite Park (http://www.anseladams.com/category_s/11.htm) and purchasing officially licensed prints (archival replicas: http://www.anseladams.com/searchresults.asp?cat=4).

Although I did not have the opportunity to go to the scheduled camera walks, I would highly recommend it. Information below from here (http://www.anseladams.com/category_s/41.htm):

Camera Walks
Free Camera walks are led by staff photographers, are offered every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer. These depart from the Gallery porch at 8:30 AM and are limited to 15 people. Topics are basic information about using cameras, composition, exposure, and whatever questions come up. Both digital and traditional formats welcome. Call 209-372-4413 to reserve space.
